With his environmentally based images, artist Scott Solberg directs our attention to the majestic, and sometimes hypnotic, qualities of natural design. Solberg spent his childhood surfing the West coast and exploring the lush mountainous regions of Asheville, N.C. These early experiences helped to cultivate an enduring curiosity and reverence for the inexplicable beauty found in everyday surroundings. Through the lens of his camera, he invites the viewer to suspend the “naming” of the image's source, allowing a more magical reality to be realized.
